Easter 2022

宝塚での 2 回目のイースターイベントになりますが、クラフトとアクテ ィビティは 1 回目と変えないようにしました。自己紹介した後、直ぐに卵 を染めました。生徒達が想像的な図柄を生み出すために、特別なテープと シールを買いました。幸運なことに、皆、ちゃんとしていたので、誰も染 料をこぼしませんでした。卵を鮮やかに塗る為に、食品用着色料とターマ リックと酢を使いました。 

For our second Easter at our Takarazuka home, we decided not to change anything as far as crafts and activities went. After we did our introductions, we went right to dying the eggs. We bought special tape and stickers that the students could use to help create a unique design creation. Luckily, all the kids were very careful and there were no major spills of the dye. We used food coloring, turmeric and vinegar to give the eggs their vibrant colors.

カードでアメリカの伝統的なアクティビティを学びました。カードに は僕の子供の頃の写真、イースターバニーと一緒に撮った写真を貼ってい ましたが、 子供達も両親も、僕がイースターバニーと会ったということ を信じてくれませんでした。<Let’s dye Easter Eggs>という文を学んで、 それを言いながら、染めた卵を見張りました。文法の授業後、染料から卵 を出して乾燥させました。

We learned traditional American Easter activities with flash cards. The kids and parents couldn’t believe that I had met the Easter Bunny in real life when they saw a picture of me on the card as a child. When student said the grammar point, “Let’s dye Easter Eggs!” we went to check out our eggs. When the grammar lesson was over, we took the eggs out of the dye and set them to dry. 

その後、可愛い卵から出ってるひよこのイースターカードを作りました。 独特な目を書きました。何人かはいろいろな色を作ったし、鬼滅の刃の漢 字を書きました。早く終わった人はイースターメッセージが書けました。できあがったカードを持った 姿 をグループフォトに撮られて恥ずかしが る子もいました。 

Next, we made cute Easter cards in the shape of a chick coming out of its egg. Some of the children drew unique eye designs, including different colors and kanji from Demon Slayer (Kimetsu No Yaiba). Those that finished quickly were able to write Easter messages on the inside of the cards. Some students were more shy than others to take a group picture with their handmade cards.

リミがブランチの準備中、僕達はフォニックスを学んで、去年と同じマーサーマイヤーの Happy Easter Little Critter という英語の本を読みました。子供達は絵と話を楽しんだり、今日やったアクティビティがアメリカで本当に 行 われることに納得したりしていました。 

While Rimi prepared brunch, we learned phonics and read the same book as last year, “Happy Easter Little Critter,” by Mercer Mayer. The kids enjoyed the pictures and story, as well as they saw proof that the activities that we did and learned were things that American families do too.

やっとブランチを食べられました。ハムとチーズとほうれんそうのキッ シュとシナモンロールを満喫しました。染めた卵は食べないで、家に持っ て帰ってもらうように袋に入れました。あるお家では、イベントの前はゆ で卵が嫌いだった子供が、イベントで染めた卵を家で食べて、それからは 染めてないゆで卵も食べたいと言うようになったそうです。 

Finally it was time for brunch. They thoroughly enjoyed the ham, cheese and spinach quiche and cinnamon rolls. Instead of serving them the eggs that they made, we sent them home with them. One of the parents told me that before the Easter event, their child did not like hardboiled eggs, but after dying the egg and eating it at home, he has asked to eat hardboiled eggs, even if they aren’t dyed.
